You can apply for a direct wholesale account with PetSafe that its wholesale page describes as free to join, with no order minimums or annual commitments. You can request Authorized Retailer status for three brands, PetSafe, Kurgo and SportDOG, and most direct customers can use iStore, an online ordering site with 24/7 access to past order history, invoices and order tracking.

PetSafe is a pet products brand for dogs and cats, founded in 1998 and based in Knoxville, Tennessee, among the suppliers listed in the United States. It says its products are sold in more than 50 countries. The company describes PetSafe as the flagship consumer brand of PetSafe Brands, whose roots it traces to 1991, when founder Randy Boyd began selling a do-it-yourself pet containment system.

Products and brands

The company lists these product categories on its about page, and it also sells directly to pet owners through its own online store.

• Containment and fencing. In-ground, wireless and GPS fences, including Guardian GPS and Stay & Play systems.
• Training. Bark control, remote trainers and obedience training aids.
• Harnesses and leashes. No-pull harnesses and walking gear, including the Easy Walk harness and Gentle Leader headcollar.
• Pet doors. Door, wall and sliding-glass options, including smart and microchip-activated doors.
• Fountains and feeders. Water fountains and automatic feeders, including Drinkwell fountains, Smart Feed feeders and the refrigerated FreshFeed.
• Litter boxes and litter. Self-cleaning and low-maintenance litter products, including the ScoopFree line.
• Travel, mobility and toys. Carriers, ramps and interactive toys, including dog toys.
• Parts and accessories. Replacement flaps, receiver collars, batteries and other pet accessories for its systems.

Trade accounts and ordering

PetSafe says vet clinics, training facilities, rescue groups, humane societies, groomers and independent pet supply retailers may be eligible to become Authorized Retailers. Its wholesale page asks applicants to email [email protected] for an application. It says it is not currently accepting retailers who sell through third-party marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and Walmart Marketplace.

Most products are available wholesale, although it says some restrictions may apply, and account setup takes an average of 5 business days. Existing direct accounts are handled by Inside Sales, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM ET. If you would rather buy through a distributor, you can request its list of certified distributor partners by emailing [email protected] with the subject Distributor Partner List. The page does not state wholesale prices or delivery areas.

Awards and community programs

PetSafe lists Pet Independent Innovation Awards in 2022 for the Happy Ride Collapsible Travel Crate and the Audible Bark Collar, and says its Bark for Your Park program, launched in 2011, has helped create more than 100 off-leash dog parks across 40 U.S. states.
