Abempet (Associação Brasileira das Empresas do Setor de Animais de Estimação) is the Brazilian association for companies in the pet sector. It was formed by bringing together Abinpet, the association of the Brazilian pet products industry, and the Instituto Pet Brasil, and now speaks for pet industry, retail, services and breeding businesses.
It produces market data and the Painel Pet production database, publishes the Manual Pet Food Brasil (11th edition) on pet food quality and safety, runs technical, legal, government relations and marketing committees, and helps pet manufacturers comply with Brazil’s national solid waste policy (PNRS).
